In short
When we get something wrong, we fix the page and say so on it. We do not delete the mistake and pretend it never happened. Report errors to[email protected].
Why this page exists
People use this site to plan around money that has already been budgeted: a payment date, a filing deadline, a benefit amount. A wrong date here is not a typo, it is a missed bill. So the standard is higher than “fix it quietly.”
What we correct
- Wrong dates or figures. Corrected as soon as verified, with a note on the page saying what changed and when.
- Outdated figures. When an underlying number changes — a COLA, a contribution limit, an allotment — every page citing it is flagged and updated, and the review date is reset.
- Dead or redirected sources. Replaced with the current official source.
- Unclear wording that could lead a reader to the wrong action. Rewritten, and noted if the meaning changed.
How a correction is shown
The page keeps its address so old links keep working. A dated line states what was wrong and what it now says. Typos and broken formatting are fixed without a note; anything that changes the meaning gets one.
How to report one
Email [email protected] with the page address and what you believe is wrong. If the agency told you something different, say what they told you and when. You do not need to prove it — we will check the regulation ourselves.
What we cannot do
We cannot change a payment date, resolve a dispute with an agency, or look up your case. If a payment did not arrive, the paying agency is the only place that can answer.
